# Features

The Blog Module adds a complete blog publishing experience to WhatsMark SaaS.

## Post Management

* Create and edit posts with title, slug, excerpt, content, featured image, publish status, and SEO metadata
* Save as draft, publish immediately, or schedule a future publish date and time
* Mark posts as **featured** to sort them above regular posts on the public listing
* Slugs are auto-generated from the post title with real-time uniqueness validation

## Categories & Tags

* Manage categories and tags from dedicated admin pages
* Categories are flat (no nesting) — each has a name, slug, and optional description
* Assign one or more categories per post; categories with published posts appear in the public filter tabs
* Categories in use cannot be deleted — the system blocks deletion to prevent orphaned posts
* Assign multiple tags per post; new tags can be created inline while editing without leaving the editor

## Public Blog Frontend

* Blog listing at `/blog` with paginated post cards (6 per page)
* Featured posts are sorted above non-featured posts
* Filter by category via `?category=slug`
* Search by keyword via `?q=` — matches title, excerpt, and content
* A **Blog** link is automatically added to the public site header navigation

## Reading Time & Views

* Reading time is estimated server-side from word count (~200 words per minute)
* View counter increments on each public post visit

## Scheduled Publishing

* Set a specific publish date and time per post
* Datetimes are stored in UTC, converted from your system timezone automatically
* Posts whose scheduled time has passed are treated as published on the frontend immediately
* A `timezone` value can be passed per request to override the system default

## Blog Settings

* Configure the **Blog Page Title** and **Blog Page Subtitle** shown on the public listing page
* Settings are managed under **Settings → Website → Blog Setting**

## Media Uploads

* Upload featured images directly in the post editor
* Accepted formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF (max 4 MB)
