# Merging Duplicates

Consolidate duplicate feature requests to avoid fragmentation and combine votes.

## Why Merge?

* Consolidate votes and feedback
* Clearer demand picture
* Easier prioritization
* Cleaner board

## Merge Process

1. **Choose parent request** (the one to keep)
2. **Find duplicates** - Search and select requests to merge
3. **Review merge** - Verify vote counts and comments will combine
4. **Confirm merge** - Complete the merge

## Best Practices

**Merge when:**

* Requests ask for same feature
* Core idea is identical

**Don't merge when:**

* Similar but distinct features
* Different use cases

Add comment to parent explaining the merge and thanking users.
