# Status & Workflow

Understanding and managing feature request statuses throughout their lifecycle.

## Default Statuses

FeedbackFlow includes these default statuses:

| Status           | Description              | Use When                 |
| ---------------- | ------------------------ | ------------------------ |
| **Under Review** | Initial status           | Request just submitted   |
| **Planned**      | Accepted for development | Committed to roadmap     |
| **In Progress**  | Actively being developed | Work has started         |
| **Completed**    | Implementation finished  | Feature is live          |
| **Rejected**     | Declined                 | Not aligned with roadmap |
| **Duplicate**    | Merged with another      | Consolidating feedback   |
| **New**          | New request              | Just created new request |

## Creating Custom Statuses

1. Navigate to **Statuses**
2. Click **Manage Statuses**
3. Enter name and color
4. Save

## Status Workflows

### Typical Workflow

```
Submitted → Under Review → Planned → In Progress → Completed
```

## Changing Status

### Manual Status Change

1. Open feature request
2. Select new status from dropdown
3. Save

Automatic notifications via email sent to original submitter and followers.

## Best Practices

* Update status promptly
* Add comments when changing status
* Regularly review and clean up stale items
* Maintain clear status definitions
