Drip Sequence Campaign

Overview

Note

It is required to properly configure and run the Perfex CRM cron job for this feature to work correctly.

A drip sequence is a scheduled series of WhatsApp template messages sent to a lead or contact over time.

Instead of sending one campaign blast, you define multiple steps such as:

  1. Send a welcome template after 1 hour
  2. Send a follow-up template after 1 day
  3. Send a reminder template after 3 days

Each enrolled record moves through the sequence automatically based on the delay configured for each step.

Drip-specific setting

Go to:

WhatsBot > Settings > Drip Campaign

There you can configure:

  • Drip Cron Batch Limit: how many due enrollments are processed in one cron cycle

Main flow

The normal workflow is:

  1. Create a drip sequence
  2. Add one or more delayed steps
  3. Save the sequence
  4. Enroll leads or contacts into the sequence
  5. Let cron process due steps automatically
  6. Monitor, pause, resume, or exit enrollments as needed

Where to find it

Go to:

WhatsBot > Campaings > Drip Sequences

This page shows the list of available sequences and actions like:

  • Create sequence
  • Edit sequence
  • Open enrollments
  • Delete sequence

Create a new drip sequence

Click Create Drip Sequence.

You will see two main sections:

  • Sequence Details
  • Sequence Steps

Sequence Details

Fill in:

  • Sequence Name: internal name for the sequence
  • Description: optional notes for your team
  • Relation Type: choose who this sequence is for
    • Leads
    • Contacts
  • Sender Phone: WhatsApp number used to send sequence messages
  • Active: enable or disable the sequence

If a sequence is inactive, enrollments will not continue sending until it is activated again.

Add sequence steps

Each step represents one scheduled WhatsApp message.

For every step, configure:

  • Delay: number before sending the step
  • Time Unit: Minutes, Hours, or Days
  • Template: approved WhatsApp template for that step

You can click Add Step to create additional follow-up messages.

Important scheduling behavior

  • Step 1 delay is calculated from the enrollment time
  • Step 2 and later delays are calculated from the time the previous step is sent

Example:

  • Step 1: 1 hour
  • Step 2: 1 day
  • Step 3: 3 days

If a contact is enrolled at 10:00 AM:

  • Step 1 sends at 11:00 AM
  • Step 2 sends about 11:00 AM the next day
  • Step 3 sends about 3 days after step 2

Template variables and preview

When you choose a template, the system loads:

  • Variable input fields
  • Message preview
  • Button preview
  • Media preview if the template uses image, video, or document headers

You must fill all required template variables before saving.

Supported template content

The drip sequence currently works with template-based steps, including:

  • Text header variables
  • Body variables
  • Footer variables
  • Image header templates
  • Video header templates
  • Document header templates

Media templates

If the selected template uses:

  • IMAGE: you must upload an image for that step
  • VIDEO: you must upload a video for that step
  • DOCUMENT: you must upload a document for that step

If required media is missing, the step cannot be saved.

Save the sequence

After adding all steps and variables, click Save.

Once saved:

  • the sequence is stored
  • step order is preserved
  • active enrollments will use the updated schedule for future steps

Enroll leads or contacts

Open a saved sequence and click the enrollments action from the sequence list.

The enrollments page shows:

  • Summary cards
  • Enrollment form
  • Enrollment table

If relation type is Leads

You can filter by:

  • Status
  • Source

Then select one or more leads and click Enroll.

Enrollment checks

During enrollment, WhatsBot skips records that are:
