Team Roles and Permissions
The app follows the roles and permissions you set for your team on the website. You do not need to set anything up separately for the app.
Owners and Admins
Workspace owners and admins can see and do everything in the app.
Some actions are only for owners and admins, even if a staff member has the matching permission on the website:
- Assigning chats to staff members (from the chat menu, chat details, or Select chats in the Inbox).
- Deleting a whole chat.
- Assigning contacts to staff members from Select contacts.
Staff Members
Staff members only see the parts of the app that their role allows on the website.
| Area | What the staff member needs on the website |
|---|---|
| Inbox tab | Permission to view chats (or read-only chat access). |
| Replying to customers and sending templates | Permission to view chats, without read-only access. Read-only staff can read chats but cannot reply. |
| Contacts tab | Permission to view all contacts, or only their own contacts. |
| Adding, editing and deleting contacts | The matching contact permissions. |
| Importing contacts | Permission to bulk import contacts. |
| Campaigns tab | Permission to view campaigns. |
| Opening a campaign's details, pausing, resuming and retrying | Permission to view campaign details. |
| Creating campaigns | Permission to create campaigns, and access to templates. |
| Deleting campaigns | Permission to delete campaigns. |
| Templates screen | Permission to view templates. |
| Loading new templates (Sync) | Permission to load templates. |
| Home and More tabs | Everyone can see these. Each card or link only shows when the user has the matching permission. |
Changes Apply Quickly
When you change a staff member's role on the website, the app updates within about 30 seconds while it is open, or as soon as the staff member opens the app again.
For example, if you remove a staff member's access to campaigns, the Campaigns tab disappears from their app. If they were on that tab, the app takes them back to the Home tab.
