Board Settings β
Configure board behavior, permissions, and advanced options.
Accessing Board Settings β
- Navigate to Boards
- Click on board name
- Click Settings tab
General Settings β
Board Information β
| Setting | Description |

| Board Name | Display name (can be changed) |
| Slug | URL identifier (permanent after creation) |
| Description | Brief board description |
| Status | Active or Inactive |
Inactive boards:
- Hidden from public view
- Existing requests remain accessible to admins
- Cannot submit new requests
Visibility Settings β
Public Board
- Anyone can view feature requests
- Users can submit (if registration allowed)
- Guests can browse
Private Board
- Only logged-in users can access
- Requires authentication to view
- More controlled environment
Feature Request Settings β
Default Status β
Choose which status new feature requests receive:
- Example: "Under Review", "Open", "Submitted"
- Can be changed per-request later
Default Priority β
Auto-assign priority to new requests:
- Low, Medium, High (or custom priorities)
- Optional (can leave unassigned)
Default Category β
Pre-select a category for submissions:
- Useful for single-purpose boards
- Users can change if needed
Voting Settings β
Enable Voting β
Toggle voting on/off for this board.
When enabled:
- Upvote/downvote buttons visible
- Vote counts displayed
- Requests sortable by votes
When disabled:
- No voting buttons
- Sort by date/status only
Voting Type β
Options:
- Upvotes only (like/thumbs up)
- Upvotes & Downvotes (full voting)
Vote Visibility β
Options:
- Show vote count publicly
- Show vote count to logged-in users only
- Hide vote count (admins only)
Comment Settings β
Enable Comments β
Allow users to comment on feature requests:
Enabled:
- Comment box visible
- Threaded discussions
- Reply functionality
Disabled:
- No comments allowed
- View-only board
Allow Replies β
Toggle threaded replies on/off.
Attachment Settings β
Allow Attachments β
Let users upload files with feature requests.
Settings:
- Maximum files per request (default: 5)
- Maximum file size (default: 5 MB)
- Allowed file types (images, PDFs, docs)
Attachment Types β
Allowed formats: Allowed: JPEG, PNG, JPG, PDF, DOC, DOCX (max 5 files, 5MB each)
Email Notifications β
Board-Specific Email Settings β
Notify admins when:
- [ ] New feature request submitted
- [ ] Feature request status changed
- [ ] New comment added
- [ ] Weekly Digest
User Notifications β
Users receive emails when:
- Their request status changes
- Someone comments on their request
- They're mentioned in a comment
- Request is marked as complete

Advanced Settings β
Custom Fields β
Add board-specific fields to the submission form.
CSV Import/Export β
Export feature requests:
- Download all requests as CSV
- Includes all fields
Import feature requests:
- Bulk upload via CSV
- Must match template format
Integration Settings β
Webhooks β
Configure board-specific webhooks:
Events:
- Feature request created
- Feature request updated
- Status changed
- Votes reached threshold
Endpoint:
- Custom URL to receive webhook POSTs
Slack Integration β
Send board notifications to Slack channel:
Configure:
- Slack webhook URL
- Channel name
- Events to notify
Delete Board β
Permanently delete board:
Permanent Action
Deleting a board removes all feature requests, comments, and votes. This cannot be undone.
Before deleting:
- Export data as CSV
- Notify users
- Consider archiving instead
Transfer Ownership β
Transfer board to another admin user.
Best Practices β
Start with defaults
- Use system defaults for first board
- Customize based on feedback
Match board purpose
- Public product board β Open voting, public comments
- Internal roadmap β Restricted submissions, admin-only visibility
- Bug reports β Attachments required, no voting
Regular review
- Check settings quarterly
- Update based on usage patterns
- Adjust notification preferences as team grows
