Admin tools for moderating discussions, pinning important comments, and managing spam.

Moderation Overview

Admins have full control over comments to maintain productive discussions and remove spam.

Moderating Comments

Pin Important Comments

Highlight valuable comments:

1. Click the 3 dots which is in the comment line(At the end).
2. Click Pin to Top
3. Comment moves to top
4. Shows pinned badge

Use cases:

• Official responses
• Important clarifications
• Key insights
• Solution summaries

Edit Comments

Admins can edit any comment:

1. Click Edit on comment
2. Modify text
3. Save changes
4. "Edited by admin" badge appears

Edit reasons:

• Fix formatting
• Remove inappropriate content (while keeping useful parts)
• Correct misinformation

Delete Comments

Remove inappropriate or spam comments:

1. Click the 3 dots which is in the comment line(At the end).
2. Click Delete
3. Confirm deletion
4. Comment is permanently removed

Permanent Action

Deleted comments cannot be recovered. Consider editing instead if the comment has some value.

Lock Discussions

Prevent new comments on a request:

1. Open feature request
2. Click Lock Discussion
3. Existing comments remain
4. New comments blocked

When to lock:

• Decision made, no further input needed
• Discussion became unproductive
• Request marked as duplicate

Spam Management

Mark as Spam

Flag spam comments:

1. Click Mark as Spam
2. Comment hidden from public
3. User's trust score decreased
4. Comment appears in spam queue

Trust Score Impact

Spam comments affect user trust scores (see Trust Score System):

• Confirmed spam: -10 points
• False positive: +5 points
• Low trust users: auto-moderation

Best Practices

Moderate Fairly

• Apply rules consistently
• Explain removals when possible
• Give warnings before bans
• Don't abuse edit powers

Encourage Positivity

• Pin constructive comments
• Thank helpful contributors
• Set tone through responses
• Remove toxic content quickly

Balance Control and Freedom

• Don't over-moderate
• Allow disagreement
• Focus on behavior, not opinions
• Intervene when necessary
